Luv-a-Duck Peking Duck Pancakes Share Kit

This is the Luv-a-Duck Peking Duck Pancakes Share Kit.

Each kit contained 330 g of duck breast (2 pieces), 150 g of Chinese pancakes (10 pieces), and 80 g of hoisin sauce.

To prepare the duck, we removed it from the pouch and heated it skin-side up in an oven at 190ºC for 15 minutes or in an air fryer at 200ºC for 12–15 minutes. After resting for 2–3 minutes, it was sliced thinly. The pancakes were prepared by opening the packet, discarding the freshness sachet, and microwaving on high for 40 seconds before being separated and served immediately with cucumber batons. We opted not to use spring onions.

The skin did not crisp up, even in the air fryer, yet the overall flavour and texture were excellent, with a well-balanced distribution of skin, fat, and juicy meat. The duck was well-marinated with a sweet soy flavour. The pancakes reheated easily in the microwave and separated without issue. They were delightfully thin yet structurally sound, holding the duck, cucumber, and sauce without breaking or adding excessive doughiness to the bite. This allowed the flavours and textures of the duck and cucumber to shine.

Overall, while the duck skin was not comparable to a restaurant-quality Peking duck, the combination of tender meat, well-balanced pancakes, and rich hoisin sauce made for a satisfying and enjoyable meal. Given the quality and convenience, this kit is worth repurchasing for a fraction of the cost of dining out.
