This is the Koikeya Pure Potato Atsugiri no Zeitaku Grilled Bacon Potato, a flavour inspired by the combination of roasted potatoes, grilled bacon, and herbs.

The chips were thick-cut, measuring approximately 1.5 mm in thickness. They had an off-white base hue, dusted with red and green powdered seasoning, and a distinct rosemary aroma.

On tasting, the chips delivered a moderately satisfying crunch, though not as firm or audible as expected from their thickness. The flavour of grilled bacon was immediately prominent, offering a deeply savoury profile. This was followed by the aromatic rosemary notes that lingered in the finish. Compared to other flavours in the Koikeya range, the underlying potato flavour was more subdued, perhaps due to the bold dominance of the bacon and herbaceous elements throughout each bite.
While the boldness of flavour was enjoyable, the subdued potato presence and slightly softer crunch left room for improvement.
This Koikeya Pure Potato Atsugiri no Zeitaku Grilled Bacon Potato contained 52 g. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sendai, Japan in 2024.
