Meiji Kajū Gumi Danryoku Plus Muscat

This is the Meiji Kajū Gumi Danryoku Plus Muscat. Each bag held its weight in fresh fruit juice, specifically, 48 g of fresh muscat juice concentrated 6.1 times to yield 7.9 g of concentrated muscat juice. It was rated 4 out of 5 on Meiji’s softness-to-hardness scale.

Each gummy was translucent yellow and shaped like a dome, measuring about 2 cm in diameter and 1.5 cm in height, with a bunch of grapes imprinted on top. The muscat aroma was intense upon opening. Biting into the gummy provided a satisfying resistance, slightly softer than the Meiji Cola Up (a 5 out of 5 on the Meiji softness-to-firmness scale), requiring persistent chewing. Initially, only a subtle muscat flavour emerged, with no overt gelatin notes despite the firm texture. As chewing continued, the muscat flavour gradually intensified, revealing a mellow sweetness with refreshing tropical acidity, leading to a juicy finish and a clean aftertaste. Overall, we enjoyed the firmer chew, prolonging our enjoyment of the rich fruity flavour, making these gummies worth repurchasing.

This Meiji Kajū Gumi Danryoku Plus Muscat contained 48 g or 12 pieces. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Hong Kong in 2023.
