Ito En Aroma Spa Yuzu

This is the Ito En Aroma Spa Yuzu, developed in response to increased interest in fragrance and relaxation following the coronavirus pandemic. While many drinks prioritise taste, this one centres aroma—specifically yuzu—through the use of yuzu essential oil and yuzu peel extract. Notably, it does not contain yuzu juice.

The beverage had an opaque yellow appearance with evenly suspended fine particles that did not settle. A soft, floral citrus aroma of yuzu emerged on opening, accompanied by a gentle carbonation. Consumed chilled, the flavour of yuzu was present from the outset: aromatic, floral, and lightly sweet, capturing the impression of ripe yuzu juice rather than the sharper zest or rind. Despite the absence of actual juice, the sensory experience closely mimicked that of diluted yuzu juice. By mid-sip, the sweetness gave way to a mild, refreshing acidity, before the carbonation lightly lifted the palate for a clean, dry finish.

The texture was slightly thin due to the restrained sweetness, but the clarity of the yuzu’s aromatic profile made it a satisfying low-calorie option. This beverage felt calibrated for moments of quiet or decompression, its subtle, spa-like sensibility well-suited to those seeking a flavourful but unsweetened refreshment.

Overall, a light, aromatic yuzu soda with minimal sweetness and a relaxing, spa-like character. Suitable as a refined, low-calorie alternative.

This Ito En Aroma Spa Yuzu contained 410 mL. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2025.
