Coles Australian Pork Slow Cooked Belly Strips with Sticky Asian Marinade

Mid-2018, D and I just could not be bothered cooking after work but wanted to avoid eating out, so we trawled through the fresh meat section for marinated cuts at the local supermarket for something that tickles our fancy and requires minimal cooking (other than sticking it in the oven). This is Coles Australian Pork Slow Cooked Belly Strips with Sticky Asian Marinade.

Each 500 g box has five pieces that have been slow cooked for 7 hours and are ready after baking in the oven.

There’s a fragrant aroma of five spice from these pieces, which makes up the bulk of the ‘sticky Asian marinade’. The marinade penetrates through to the slow-cooked pieces meat, which falls off the bones after baking in the oven. That said, the bones make up a good proportion of the pieces, leaving not much meat and making these an easy, lazy option but definitely not economical.

This Coles Australian Pork Slow Cooked Belly Strips with Sticky Asian Marinade contained 500 g. It was produced in Australia and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2018.
