This is the Yamazaki Biscuits Chip Star Seaweed & Salt.
The potato chips sported an oval shape, measuring approximately 6 x 5 cm at their broadest points. Infused with seaweed during the dough preparation, these chips were delicately coated with a fine layer of salt. Upon tasting, the chips delivered a satisfying crunch, accompanied by a gentle savoury note from the salt. By mid-chip, the umami-rich seaweed flavour made its presence known, contributing a nuanced depth to the taste. However, the seaweed’s character was somewhat softened by the simultaneous emergence of the inherent potato flavour inherent in each chip. Although a more robust and intense seaweed taste akin to the Pringles Roasted Seaweed variant from South Korea would have been preferable, these chips still managed to offer a highly enjoyable snacking experience. Considering their appeal, we would not hesitate to consider repurchasing them.
