This is the UHA Mikakutō Nagano Gumi Yamanoshizuku. It used Shine Muscat juice and purée from Nagano Prefecture, which is one of the leading areas of grape production in Japan. This was the gummy version of the hard candy from the same series.
Each candy piece took on the form of a translucent waterdrop, boasting a vivid green hue and measuring approximately 2.5 x 1.5 x 1 cm in size. Its sweet, vibrant aroma of Shine Muscat grapes was immediate upon tasting. While the flavour began with a subtle touch, a few successive chews revealed an infusion of mango-like sweetness, simultaneously unveiling a pristine, natural acidity that lingered, culminating in a juicy, almost mouthwatering finish. The overall taste was a splendid tribute to the unique Shine Muscat grape, setting itself apart from other gummy confections by gracefully embracing the fruit’s invigorating natural acidity while exposing its distinct sweetness. The experience mirrored that of indulging in a blend of Shine Muscat juice and gelatin, delivering an authentic and tantalizing sensation.
