This is the Kasugai Tsubu Gumi Premium Rich Kiwi.
Each bag featured the distinct flavours of three kiwi varieties: green, golden, and red. The flavours were evenly spread in the bag (18:20:18).
The back of the packaging indicated the balance of freshness, sweetness, and acidity in each variety.
The Green Kiwi jellybean had a soft green candy shell enclosing a translucent yellow gummy centre. The candy shell provided a noticeable freshness of kiwifruit, along with a subtle and refreshing acidity as it dissolved. As one chewed through to the gummy centre, a more pronounced sourness emerged, akin to the tartness of a ripe green kiwifruit.
The Golden Kiwi jellybean had a soft yellow candy shell encasing a translucent yellow gummy centre. The candy shell provided a vibrant sweetness reminiscent of golden kiwifruit, along with its fragrant and almost floral-like flavour. This delightful taste continued with juiciness as you chewed through to the gummy centre, which, much like the original fruit, had no acidity.
The Red Kiwi jellybean had a soft pink candy shell encasing a translucent yellow gummy centre. The candy shell captured the freshness along with a distinct sourness, reminiscent of the green kiwi. As you chewed through, the gummy not only retained the sourness of the green kiwi but also balanced it with the delightful sweetness of the golden kiwifruit to create a flavour that recalled berries. This variety was our favourite as it harmoniously combined the delicious attributes of both the green and golden kiwis, resulting in an even more delicious flavour.
Just like the preceding flavours in this series, we continue to be enthusiastic fans of the textures and flavours in these jellybeans.
