Beyond fresh orange juice, orange flavoured foods and drinks aren’t usually something I’m particularly keen to try. That is unless it’s this Sanpellegrino Aranciata. The Sanpellegrino brand makes such delicious and sophisticated soft drinks, it’s difficult to resist.
The soft drink was a translucent orange colour with a medium-strong carbonation and a zesty orange nose. Served chilled, gently sour citrus notes of orange came through ahead of a sweeter body akin to the flesh of an orange followed by a subtle bitter finish that recalled caramelized orange rind. The flavour in this soft drink is balanced with a fresh flavour much like a juicy squeezed orange with a restrained sweetness. Using 20% orange juice, it’s infinitely more complex than your ordinary orange soft drinks.
This Sanpellegrino Aranciata contained 330 ml. It was produced in Italy and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2017.
