H is one of the few people I know who enjoys tea almost as much as I do and is always the happiest to visit The Rabbit Hole Organic Tea Bar with me.
This visit, I’m a little adventurous and try their Banana Split ($5.00 for a pot), a red rooibos with freeze dried banana.
The tea is a transparent deep red-brown with a pleasant tropical hint to a prominent rooibos nose. The rooibos mellowed in the taste of the tea, with its earthy notes coming through ahead of a creamy roundness developing in the body from the banana, leaving a gentle, tropical and earthy aftertaste long on the palate. Overall, the flavour reminds of the delicious toasted edges of banana bread and is one of the most enjoyable red rooibos teas for me.
