This is the White Champaca Oolong Milk Tea ($7.90, cold, 70% sugar, less ice, +$1.50 for agar jelly) from Molly Tea, featuring white champaca scented green tea blended with Taiwanese Jinxuan oolong (also known as “milk” oolong).

The Jinxuan oolong was immediately recognisable, with its light, creamy notes making it an ideal base for milk tea. The usual floral undertones of the tea were elevated by the white champaca (Magnolia × alba) flowers, which imparted a delicate fragrance that gently scented the beverage. The milkiness of the tea was pronounced by the naturally creamy Jinxuan oolong, resulting in a sophisticated floral-scented sweetened milk. The white champaca lingered beautifully in the finish, leaving a soft floral aftertaste without the milky undertones. Compared to Molly Tea’s jasmine milk tea, the floral intensity was more subtle and elegant, offering a refined drinking experience. The agar jelly pearls were smaller than standard, providing a delicate and complementary mouthfeel.

Overall, this was a gorgeously balanced and elegant milk tea, where the creamy Jinxuan oolong and white champaca florals worked harmoniously to create a lightly fragrant and smooth beverage.
