Asahi Calpis Water Freezing Fruit Lemon

This was the Asahi Calpis Water Freezing Fruit Lemon, which contained 1% extract from crushed, frozen lemons.

The beverage had an opaque white hue and a sweet yoghurt-like aroma typical of Calpis, though with a heightened sourness that didn’t immediately hint at the lemon. Consumed chilled, the mellow sweet yoghurt notes of Calpis were the first to come through, followed by the lemon flavour mid-sip, delivering moderate tartness and fresh sweetness, reminiscent of the fruit’s juice rather than the zest. Toward the finish, the acidity intensified, accompanied by a cooling sensation across the palate, as if the drink were super chilled. Overall, the lemon flavour enjoyable and achieved the refreshing effect of soft drinks without carbonation.

This Asahi Calpis Water Freezing Fruit Lemon contained 600 mL. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2024.
