This is the Glico Ice no Mi Koi Kiwi. It’s a bag of bite-size gelato balls, and consisted of 45% kiwifruit juice and fruit pulp, of which 5% is green kiwifruit purée.

Each ball was around 2 cm in diameter with a fruity kiwifruit aroma. Upon tasting, the balls had a tasteless, firm icy exterior that gave the interior structural integrity. Biting through the icy coating, rich notes of sweet kiwifruit burst forth with the gentle acidity of the fresh fruit alongside a thick and rich creamy mouthfeel that melted swiftly on the palate. The gelato interior contained milk but there were no overt notes of dairy.

Overall, these bite-size gelato balls were a tasty and neat way to cool down. Using them as ice cubes in a lemonade also seemed like a delicious treat.
