This is the Glico Almond Kōka Aromatic Coffee, featuring 5 g almond per serving.
The beverage presented with an opaque light tan hue. Aroma opened with roasted almond, supported by a mellow underlying sweetness.
Initial contact delivered immediate roasted almond notes alongside moderate sweetness, carried by a creamy body that coated the palate without becoming heavy. Through the mid-palate, the almond character deepened into a fuller roasted profile, remaining the dominant flavour throughout the drinking experience. Despite the product’s coffee positioning, overt coffee character was largely absent during the main progression. It was only towards the finish, as the liquid receded, that faint roasted coffee notes emerged, lingering briefly on the palate before being overtaken once again by the persistent almond presence.
In contrast to the cocoa variant, this version had a notably smoother mouthfeel from start to finish. The liquid maintained a cohesive, velvety texture without the graininess observed in the cocoa version, contributing to a cleaner and more refined structure. Towards the finish, the beverage resolved cleanly with only a slight astringency remaining.
Overall, a ready-to-drink almond beverage with a converging flavour trajectory and highly cohesive texture integration, resulting in a smooth, almond-dominant structure with coffee playing only a subtle supporting role.
