The moderate climate of the Setouchi region surrounding the Seto Inland Sea of Japan is well known for its lemon production. Naturally, the Setouchi Lemon was chosen to represent the region in this Glico Pretz Setouchi Lemon.

These were mini boxes, so each box contained one yellow bag rather than the usual two.

Each box contained ~16 biscuit sticks dusted in a white seasoning containing 6% Setouchi lemon.

The Pretz have a sweet lemon aroma much like lemon butter. Upon tasting, the white powder gave a punchy lemon flavour at the start of each bite before the sweetness came through to restrain the salivating tartness on biting into the biscuit. The biscuit has the same sweet as the initial aroma with a prominent buttery flavour developing in the finish with the gentle zestiness of lemon. The lemon notes are bright and fresh, but we’d have preferred more emphasis on the tart lemon qualities as the sweetness is a bit offputting in this format.

This Glico Pretz Setouchi Lemon contained 23 g. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Saitama, Japan in 2018.
