This is the Kasugai Tsubu Tsubu Gumi Koi Momo, a jelly bean-style gummy featuring three different stone fruit flavours: golden peach, white peach and sumomo. While the first two are peaches (momo), the latter is a Japanese plum.

Each flavour was represented in near-equal proportions within the package, with a count of 19 golden peach, 18 white peach and 20 sumomo pieces. The product utilised a dual-layer structure, incorporating fruit juice into both the outer shell and inner gummy core to create a more layered flavour profile.

The packaging also featured a flavour chart positioning each variety across three axes—sweetness, richness and acidity—to illustrate their intended characteristics.

Golden Peach
Presented with an opaque yellow shell surrounding a translucent off-white interior.
The flavour was immediately recognisable from the first bite, delivering a vibrant and intensely ripe peach profile. Sweetness was prominent, accompanied by a juicy richness that closely resembled fresh golden peach. The dual-layer construction allowed the flavour to build gradually rather than arriving all at once, creating a convincing fruit character with notable depth. Despite the jellybean format, there was virtually no detectable gelatin or generic sugary note, allowing the peach flavour to remain clean and focused throughout.

White Peach
Presented with an opaque off-white shell surrounding a translucent off-white interior.
White peach proved equally distinctive, opening with a slight touch of acidity before quickly transitioning into an intensely floral and nectar-like sweetness. The aromatic character closely reflected the perfume-like qualities associated with fresh white peaches, with floral notes carrying through the mid-palate and finish. As with the golden peach variety, the fruit flavour remained remarkably pure, avoiding the artificial sweetness or gelatin-derived notes often encountered in gummies.

Sumomo
Presented with an opaque pink shell surrounding a translucent off-white interior.
The sumomo variety was the most acidic of the three and exhibited the least sweetness and richness. The flavour profile leaned closer to plum, with a sharper fruit character and more pronounced tartness. This provided useful contrast within the assortment, balancing the richer and sweeter peach varieties while maintaining a similarly authentic fruit expression.
Overall, a refined and thoughtfully layered confection that highlighted the individual character of each fruit while maintaining balance across sweetness, acidity and aroma. The dual-layer format contributed genuine complexity, and the clarity of the fruit flavours was particularly impressive. In line with the broader Tsubu Tsubu Gumi series, both texture and flavour execution were of a notably high standard.
