Crab isn’t something I eat often at all, but the novelty of crab flavoured foods — like this Lay’s Potato Chips Fried Crab Flavor — still appeal to me.

These chips are thin cut and a pale yellow colour sparsely speckled with red without much of an aroma aside being a nondescript savoury. Upon tasting, though, the crab flavour was prominent and came through initially as a flavour that recalled crab stick before developing to a deeper, sweet crab flavour into the body where the flavours of coriander and onion make their presence known. After eating a few, the crab flavour remains strong, but there’s also the faintest heat from the chilli powder. We’re pleasantly surprised by the flavour of these chips.
This Lay’s Potato Chips Fried Crab Flavor contained 70 g. It was produced in China and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2019.
