This is Lupicia Bonne Chance!, a seasonal tea released for Christmas 2024. Named after the French phrase for “Good luck!”, Lupicia describes it as a giftable blend intended to inspire hope and fortune, whether shared with others or enjoyed personally.

The tea features a loose-leaf blend of green rooibos scented with peach, raspberry, and mirabelle plum. For added sweetness and a festive appearance, it includes pink and purple arazan sugar beads and yellow arare (fried rice crackers).

Using 3 g of loose leaf steeped in 200 mL of just-boiled water for 4 minutes, the resulting infusion had a golden-orange hue with a delightful sweet and tangy fruity aroma.
When enjoyed hot, the tea offered an impeccably balanced blend of flavours. White peach provided a delicate floral sweetness at the start. Mirabelle plum added a honeyed tanginess in the body. Raspberry emerged toward the finish, delivering a tart berry profile without notable acidity. The finish left a subtle hint of green rooibos, which complemented the fruity notes with its lightness and delicate sweetness, avoiding the heavier earthiness often associated with red rooibos.
The combination resulted in a luscious, decaffeinated tea with a nuanced flavour profile. The blend is versatile, equally enjoyable hot or iced, and suitable for any time of day due to its caffeine-free composition.
This Lupicia Bonne Chance! contained 50 g. The tea was sourced from South Africa, packaged in Japan, and purchased in Sendai, Japan in 2024.
