Nissin Foods Cup Noodles Prawn

This is the Nissin Foods Cup Noodles Prawn.

The noodles featured a noodle cake accompanied by dehydrated toppings of pork (chicken was not a component, unlike in other flavours), shrimp, egg, mince pork, and green onion.

After rehydrating them with boiling water up to the designated line inside the cup for 3 minutes, the soup base transformed into a translucent brown hue and emitted a savoury aroma with very subtle crustacean undertones. While the noodles maintained their usual al dente texture without becoming elastic, the soup lacked viscosity, failing to adequately carry the flavour of the broth. The prawn flavour was notably absent in the soup, which predominantly tasted like a thin soy-based stock, with only a fleeting hint of seafood flavor in the finish. Surprisingly, it was the generous amount of dehydrated prawns (approximately 6) that provided the bulk of the prawn flavour, along with a substantial amount of pork and pork mince, resulting in an unusually generous array of toppings. These toppings imparted a meaty flavor, contradicting the prawn flavor intended for the noodles. Additionally, the dehydrated egg was soggy.

Overall, aside from the abundance of toppings, these instant noodles failed to showcase the prawn flavor effectively and were not worthy of repurchase.
