This is the Tōhato All Pine Hitokuchi, a moist cookie with candied pineapple.

Each bag contained 14 square cookies, each approximately 3 cm wide and 0.5-0.8 cm in height. The cookies had an uneven surface, with generous pieces of candied pineapple peeking through the golden-brown dough.

Upon tasting, the cookie was firm with a soft crunch and a subtle savoury note balanced by a gentle sweetness. The chewy bits of candied pineapple provided a contrasting texture. As one chewed, the cookie quickly rehydrated, developing a moist texture, while the sweet tartness of the pineapple became more pronounced from mid-bite through to the finish. By the end, the cookie had an almost melt-in-the-mouth quality. The overall flavour and texture were reminiscent of Taiwanese pineapple cake, with a similar buttery richness and vibrant candied pineapple flavour. These cookies were delicious and worth repurchasing.
