This is the UHA Mikakutō Ninja Meshi Hagane Golden Pineapple. In the form of an infinity symbol, ‘∞’, this gummy marketed itself as a ‘thin’ and ‘hard’ gummy, offering endless possibilities for chewing and a toughness likened to steel (‘hagane’). It contained fruit juice concentrate from pineapple and apple.

Each gummy was an opaque dark yellow hue, taking on the form of an infinity symbol measuring approximately 3.8 x 2 x 0.6 cm. It emitted a highly fragrant tropical aroma of sweet golden pineapple.

Upon tasting, the initial experience involved only the fine sweet coating on the gummy’s exterior as the gummy resisted an immediate chew, demanding several chews to break it up. By the third chew, the pineapple flavour emerged, and as the gummy gradually melted on the palate, it maintained a firm chew in the broken-up pieces throughout to the finish. Midway through, the flavour intensified into an incredibly rich and sweet profile, akin to concentrated pineapple juice. This richness continued to evolve with a subtle balancing acidity that preserved its refreshing quality until the finish, culminating in a clean aftertaste. Overall, we enjoyed the rich pineapple flavour in these gummies, but prefer the more tender elasticity of the Meiji Kajū Gumi Golden Pineapple.
