This is the UHA Mikakutō Puccho Juicy Higo Green Melon, made with melon and the purée of Higo green melons grown in Kumamoto Prefecture. These melons, known for their vibrant jade-coloured flesh, firm texture, and crunch, are rarely available outside the region.

The candy featured an opaque light green taffy with translucent yellow gummy bits embedded throughout. On tasting, the taffy delivered a creamy melon flavour reminiscent of an Asahi Calpis drink infused with melon juice. In contrast, the gummy bits offered a sharper, more acidic melon profile, akin to the flavour of melon soda. When eaten together, subsequent chews combined the sweet creaminess of the taffy, which softened the acidity of the gummy, with the vibrant, juicy sweetness of the melon. The result was a dynamic melon flavour that shone through with its distinct sweetness and a refined aftertaste, balancing both creamy and fruity elements.
This UHA Mikakutō Puccho Juicy Higo Green Melon contained 50 g (10 pieces). It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2024.
