This is the UHA Mikakutō Mochido Grape, inspired by mochi doughnuts and made with grape and date juice concentrate.

Each gummy had a musky purple hue and was shaped like a mochi doughnut, composed of seven connected spheres forming a ring, measuring approximately 3.5 × 2.6 × 0.8 cm at its widest points.

The aroma was intensely bold, leaning towards an artificial grape note. Upon tasting, the flavour was more subdued and rounded, yet carried a lingering strangeness—likely due to the earthy sweetness introduced by the date concentrate. The overall impression resembled Western-style grape confectionery, with a fleeting note of artificial sharpness towards the finish. Texturally, the outer layer was firm and crust-like, resembling a slightly dehydrated surface, which gave way to a softer, more translucent centre. However, the chew was atypical for a gummy—lacking bounce or resistance, and more akin to the pull and stretch of a liquorice rope. Despite the presence of real grape concentrate, the flavour lacked clarity, and both the textural and flavour profiles were unappealing overall.

Overall, an odd-textured, muddled grape gummy with artificial notes—neither flavour nor texture justifies repurchase.
