Sausages have piqued D’s interest lately after he’d long written them off as being ‘cheap meat’. Of course, it helps that these Woolworths Chicken Sausages with Tomato & Fetta are classified as ‘gourmet’.

The sausages described are made using ‘Australian chicken with tomato basil and fetta cheese’ and cooked on medium heat for 18-20 minutes, turning occasionally.

I’m a fan of tomato and basil and these sausages taste just as you’d expect the combination of the flavours with chicken and fetta cheese to taste. Unfortunately, the flavour wasn’t as bright and fresh as I’d hoped, with the fetta cheese adding heaviness to the mouthfeel that’s not cut through by any acidity from the tomato or basil flavour. Overall, it’s a decent coarse ground sausage but it’s not one we’d choose over something more ordinary.
This Woolworths Chicken Sausages with Tomato & Fetta contained 500 g or 6 pieces. It was produced in Australia and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2019.
