This is the Nippon Yell Rusk-style Baumkuchen Ehime Benimadonna.

It featured bite-sized, rusk-style Baumkuchen soaked in white chocolate flavoured with 0.8% fresh juice from Benimadonna, a citrus variety developed in Ehime Prefecture (Ehime Fruit Test No. 28). Benimadonna is known for its thin, soft outer skin and delicate segment membranes, with a smooth, jelly-like flesh that is exceptionally juicy.

Each bag contained four pieces, each measuring 3.2 cm in depth, with a 2 cm outer rim and 1.5 cm in height. The pieces had an orange hue and a smooth surface, emitting a sweet, blood orange-like aroma.

On tasting, the texture was firm and crunchy, with the chocolate melting easily on the palate, immediately releasing the fragrant Benimadonna flavour. The citrus profile was subtly zesty, with a sweetness reminiscent of mandarin, accented by a bright, raspberry-like depth that mirrored its blood orange-like aroma. The contrast between the melted citrusy chocolate and the consistently crisp baumkuchen rusk created a dynamic texture. Of the three flavours in this series, this was the most vibrant—distinctly citrusy without being overly zesty, offering a bright sweetness and a juicy acidity in the finish. A well-portioned bite-sized snack for those with a sweet tooth.
