This is Apple House Cafe, a restaurant located within Ringo no Ie at Hirosaki Apple Park, specialising in apple-focused dishes that draw directly on the region’s produce.

Cutlet in Apple (¥700) + A Set (¥550)
The main dish consisted of a pork katsu filled with slices of apple, while the A Set included apple rice, miso soup, and pickled shiso ume.

The cutlet was crisp on the exterior, with pork that remained notably juicy despite being hire rather than rōsu. The apple slices sandwiched within retained a clean crunch and contributed a gentle sweetness and acidity, reinforcing the classic affinity between pork and apple. The dish was both thoughtful and confidently executed.

At the table, the katsu paired particularly well with the Ringo Sauce and Ringo Dressing. Both leaned into apple character in a restrained, considered manner, enhancing the dish without feeling novelty-driven.

The apple rice was generously studded with fresh apple cubes that offered light crunch, alongside mushrooms and edamame that grounded the dish with savoury depth and balance.

The miso soup was straightforward and satisfying.

Noël de Hirosaki Apple Pie (¥480)
This cold apple pie featured a generous quantity of apple set with jelly, delivering mellow cinnamon sweetness and a soft yet pleasing crunch. The filling was well judged, though the pastry was notably soft and lacked definition.

Kasai Seika Apple Pie (¥400)
This cake-style apple pie incorporated raisins and walnuts. While the walnuts contributed welcome texture, the raisins were barely perceptible. The cake was soaked in syrup, making it slightly sweet overall, with the apple flavour remaining comparatively subdued.
Soft Ice Cream (¥400)
The soft serve presented a juicy apple profile with the bright sweetness and light acidity associated with Fuji apples. The dairy base was understated, remaining present without distracting from the fruit.

Jelly in Apple Juice (¥400)
Rich, sweet, and vibrant, the apple juice strongly suggested Fuji apples and reflected the clarity typical of juice extracted using the shibori method in an oxygen-free environment. The addition of apple jelly introduced textural contrast while reinforcing the fruit character.

Overall, the cafe impressed through a disciplined and thoughtful exploration of apple in both savoury and sweet forms, delivering a refined and regionally grounded experience that strongly warrants a return visit for their seasonal items when in Hirosaki.
