The football season in 2019 saw a return of Smith’s Potato Chips Garlic Bread, only this time it wasn’t in collaboration with Pizza Hut as it was in 2018.

The chips were a yellow colour with a strong buttery aroma. Upon tasting, the flavour came through buttery at first before the garlic notes emerged in the body ahead of the potato in the finish. The garlic flavour was quite restrained and the buttery notes much less rich than the 2018 version, and shows both on the palate as well as in the paler yellow appearance of the chips. Overall, we prefer the this year’s version but would enjoy a return of a stronger garlic flavour.
