These St Michel La Grande Galette French Butter Cookies were inspired by a recipe from 1905 and made with real butter (milk) (24%) and Guerande sea salt.

The box contained 12 individually sealed bags of 3 cookies. Each cookie is stamped with the words ‘St Michel Grande Galette 1905’ and 7.5 cm in diameter and 0.5 cm in height.

The cookies have a strong buttery aroma, while on tasting, the cookie is crunchy with a sweet initial flavour before the same buttery notes develop with prominence in the body ahead of a savoury finish as the salt crystals inside the cookies dissolve. Overall, the buttery flavour evolves from sweet to savoury strikes a moreish balance that makes these cookies easy to eat.
