This is the Kikkoman Soy Milk Drink Malt Coffee. It contained malt extract and coffee powder and at least 9% soybean solids (in contrast to the usual 4%).
The beverage had an opaque pastel tan hue, mirroring the colour of its carton. When enjoyed chilled, the malt flavour took the spotlight, offering a well-balanced sweetness. The coffee notes were subtle and smooth, gradually revealing themselves with a gentle bitterness before giving way to the prominence of soybean flavour in the finish. Overall, the creamy mouthfeel from the higher soybean content and the nostalgic malted coffee flavour reminiscent of childhood Horlicks made it a suitable choice even for morning consumption.
This Kikkoman Soy Milk Drink Malt Coffee contained 200 mL. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2024.
