This is the Fresh Coconut Jasmine and Coffee Blend ($7.50, cold, half sugar, normal ice) from the ‘when coffee meets tea’ series at Tea & Co.

The beverage featured a gradient from milky beige at the base to a darker brown at the top. On tasting, the roasted coffee notes came through first, offering a bold, balanced flavour rounded by the milk and without acidity. Mid-sip, quite unexpectedly, dewy jasmine notes emerged with an intensity matching that of the coffee, accompanied by a notable astringency that lingered in the finish. Taking small sips and allowing the liquid to sit on the palate seemed the best way to draw out the jasmine presence, which we thought would be masked by the coffee.

We could not discern where the coconut flavour came in. Nevertheless, this ‘coffee meets tea’ blend was an unexpected winner. We would gladly return to repurchase and try their other coffee and tea blends.
