This is the Asahi Calpis Soda Grape, a modern revival of Calpis Soda Grape first released in 1992, while retaining the familiar refreshing Calpis Soda profile that has remained largely unchanged. It contained 1% grape juice.

The drink presented with an opaque purple-pink colour, accompanied by a mellow red grape aroma and fine, moderate carbonation.
When consumed chilled, it opened with immediate red grape notes at the front of each sip, showing a rich but controlled sweetness. This developed into a tangy, juicy mid-palate driven by the Calpis drinking yoghurt base, which melded seamlessly with the grape to create a lively, refreshing acidity. The dairy character remained mild and well balanced, largely masked by the fruit, while the carbonation cleansed the palate and lifted the finish into a clean aftertaste. The mouthfeel was smooth and light, evoking a grape creamsicle character without any sense of heaviness.
Overall, this was light, smooth, and refreshing, combining grape sweetness with Calpis tang for an easy-drinking, palate-cleansing soda.
This Asahi Calpis Soda Grape contained 350 mL. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2025.
