This is the Nestlé KitKat Mint Choc Chip, which is inspired by one of Australia’s favourite ice cream flavours of the same name.

Each block contained 11 wafers on a milk chocolate base topped with mint flavoured chocolate and Swiss cocoa crisps (cacao nibs made from crushed cocoa beans). The block is made up of 47% milk chocolate, 29% mint flavoured chocolate, 24% wafer fingers and 0.7% cacao nibs.

These KitKat have a faintly sweet minty aroma and their appearance recalled the ‘crisp mint chocolate’ half of the 2 Ways Mint. The point of difference lies in the substitution of the mint flavoured pieces in the mint flavoured chocolate with cacao nibs, which give the chocolate bar the appearance of mint choc chip ice cream. As for the difference it makes to the taste, the cocoa nibs bring a similar extra crunch and the mint flavour remains bright and fresh, but the cooling sensation on the palate is less pronounced. It sits somewhere between the crisp mint chocolate half and the smooth mint chocolate half of the 2 Ways Mint. We’re fans.
This KitKat Ice Cream Inspired Mint Choc Chip contained 170 g. It was produced in Australia and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2021.
