This Morinaga Hi-Chew La France Pear takes one of our favourite chewing candies and flavours it with the distinctive fragrance and sweet and juicy flavour of the La France Pear, a popular variety of pear originating in France and cultivated in Yamagata Prefecture, Japan.

Each piece is wrapped individually in foil paper and about 2 x 1 x 1 cm in size.

The surface is an opaque pale yellow colour and surrounds an opaque white centre. A gentle aroma of pear came through with fragrant prominence on chewing and developed with a sweet acidity about 5 seconds in that reminds of a pear at peak ripeness — that fleeting moment where the pear is both firm and sweet. The texture of each piece is soft yet firm enough to hold its shape and without getting stuck in our teeth. We’re fans.
This Morinaga Hi-Chew La France Pear contained 55 g or 12 pieces. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Kyōto, Japan in 2018.
