On tasting, the surface was notably sticky, making the rings somewhat difficult to separate. Nevertheless, each piece bit through cleanly, with minimal fibre catching between the teeth. The flavour was rich and distinctly pineapple-forward, offering a full, rounded sweetness that was not cloying despite the added sugar. However, due to the use of sugar and sulphites in candied preservation, it lacked the bright tang and natural acidity characteristic of higher-end, pure-dried pineapple products. Considering the significant price difference, it remains a reasonable and enjoyable option for casual snacking, though not a substitute for premium varieties.

Overall, a pleasantly sweet, accessible dried pineapple with balanced flavour and satisfying texture, best suited for everyday consumption rather than purist tasting.
