This Pistachio White Chocolate Macchiato ($6.00.85, tall, no ice) was featured on Starbucks’ early autumn menu for 2023. It consisted of a dark roast espresso mixed with pistachio and white chocolate and was topped with pistachio sauce and pieces.

The coffee was a pale green-brown hue and emitted a fragrant pistachio aroma. When enjoyed chilled, the dark-roasted coffee emerged with a subtle nuttiness and distinctive bitterness, with the white chocolate failing to contribute much sweetness due to the pistachio sauce sinking to the cup’s base immediately after the initial sip. As the drink progressed to about halfway, it gradually acquired a warmer nutty quality and an understated graininess from the nuts, although the absence of pistachio pieces was regrettable as they would have introduced a delightful crunchy texture. On the whole, this seasonal coffee failed to make a significant impression.
