This is the Morinaga Hi-Chew Premium Yoghurt.

The candy was elongated and spherical, approximately 1.5 cm in diameter, with an opaque white hue. It featured an external coating infused with yoghurt, created using an “aroma foundation” manufacturing method, surrounding a soft taffy interior. The candy emitted a sweet yoghurt aroma reminiscent of Yakult, with its characteristic sweet-sour notes.

The powdered coating provided a cool, smooth sensation on the palate and delivered an initial sweetness. The yoghurt flavour was fully revealed upon biting into the taffy centre, which released tangy, sweet-sour notes. After a few chews, the creamy yoghurt flavour deepened, likely due to the inclusion of fresh cream as an ingredient. This bright, tangy sweetness persisted through to the finish without overt milky presence, leaving a clean aftertaste. As with regular Hi-Chew candies, these did not stick to the teeth.

While the yoghurt flavour and signature mochi mochi texture were enjoyable, this would not be a flavour chosen over the more fruit-forward options in the Hi-Chew lineup.
