Visits to Spice Alley at Kensington Street seem far and in between. Despite its proximity to the office, my last visit was in December 2017. In any case, the space is thriving and this time I try Sedap Malaysian.

Honey Chicken ($14.80). The honey chicken here was generously portioned and used breast meat that was surprisingly juicy and not at all squeaky. The pieces had a thin batter that retained its crunch despite the slathering of honey sauce. All in all, this was a very satisfying dish for a reasonable price.

Ribena and Melon ($5.50). The drink was basic but satisfied one’s sweet tooth, tasting like a Ribena base mixed with the syrup of canned lychees. Melon notes were absent but the combination of the blackcurrant and lychee was refreshing, with the firm texture of the whole (canned) lychee being an enjoyable end to the meal.
