This is Matcha Mori in Eastwood, a Japanese-inspired soft serve store that opened on Christmas in 2025 and is affiliated with the Sushi Naya group found across Sydney.

Matcha Genmaicha Parfait ($9.80)

The matcha soft serve itself was well executed, delivering a rich matcha profile with balanced sweetness and minimal bitterness. The plum blossom- and leaf-shaped cookies added crunch and a light floral note alongside matcha, though they felt stylistically clumsy; a finer wafer or rice cracker would have aligned more naturally with the genmaicha theme and overall textural balance. The warabi mochi pieces were notably chewy, but the matcha coating lacked the vibrancy and depth present in the soft serve. The genmaicha jelly was the weakest element: its flavour was barely perceptible even on its own, entirely lost when combined with other components, and being unsweetened further diminished its impact. Texturally, it was bouncy and held its cube shape, but offered little beyond that.

Overall, a disappointing parfait with a strong soft serve component undermined by poorly integrated and underwhelming accompaniments, making it difficult to justify a return when compared with more established matcha-focused venues.
