Artisan chocolate is a sight to behold for all the intricate details that are avoided and missed in a mass-producing factory. And here we have a bar of Koko Black Hazelnut & Caramelised Cocoa Nibs Dark Chocolate that enthralled me with its delicious beauty during a visit to Melbourne.

The gentle bitterness of the 54% cocoa content of the dark chocolate melted to a creaminess that paired well with the pops of sweetness from the crispy caramelised cocoa nibs and the velvety crunch and creamy flavour of the hazelnuts. The hazelnuts are whole and generously scattered, although they had a tendency to fall off the chocolate as you broke the bar – that’s a small price to pay for their deliciousness, though. All in all, this was one delicious bar of chocolate and well worth the premium for an occasional enjoyment.
