This Frey Supreme Milk Crunchy Corn is one of the most interesting flavours of chocolate I’ve come across in the confectionery aisle. I love to eat corn, so when I spotted this on one of the last few pages of the shopping catalogue, it wasn’t long before I looked for it in store. Chocolat Frey is the leading chocolate manufacturer in Switzerland and Woolworths began carrying their products exclusively in Australia in mid-2018.

Each bar is divided into 12 blocks around 4 cm x 2 xm x 1 cm.

The bar is milk chocolate with salted fried corn and described as ‘milk chocolate with crunchy aromatic corn and a hint of ground hazelnut’.

The bar smells like milk chocolate with the lumpy base and yellow chunks the only indication of the corn. Upon tasting, the corn makes itself known as an audible crunch as you bite through the softer chocolate. The fried corn has the flavour and texture of rice crackers, which is much crunchier than corn cakes, and the flavour persists throughout with pops of saltiness as the milk chocolate melts to a smoothness your mouth. The corn flavour lingered in the aftertaste, like a rice cracker.
