Boba is a lifestyle and there was only so long we could go without it, so after visiting Floriade we looked up decent boba stores in Canberra and decided on KoO, a Canberra-specific brand with three stores.
This is the Snow Kiwi ($8.50, 70% sweetness). It’s a ‘refreshing kiwi slush with rich kiwi fruit pulp’.
We were delighted to see this drink on the menu because it’s been a few months since The Alley’s Kiwi Slush has been unavailable due to ‘fruit shortages’, and we’re even more thrilled that this one surpassed our expectations. It was an opaque pale green colour with kiwi flesh at the bottom. Consumed chilled, the ice blend had a bright kiwifruit flavour and was blitzed sufficiently for a smooth mouthfeel, while the cubes of kiwifruit flesh at the base added fresh pops of sweet and soft texture from the ripe fruit. We thoroughly enjoyed the refreshing quality of this drink. It’s a real pity it’s a good 3 hours away.
