On the back of some pretty disappointing products by Nudie – the Cherry Icelandic Yoghurt took the cake, with their Mixed Berries Brekkie that tasted like a Lush store coming close behind – we returned to safer grounds with their juices. This is the Nudie Nothing But Summer Goodness Limited Edition Watermelon Lychee Pear & Lime, with 82.2% pear juice, 15.2% watermelon juice, 2% lychee juice, 0.4% beetroot juice and 0.2% lime juice.
The juice is a translucent salmon pink colour with a watermelon and pear nose. Served chilled, the fragrant flavour of pear dominates from the first sip with a slightly thick mouthfeel before the characteristic sweet and clear notes of watermelon follow behind closely. A brief hint of acidity and sharpness from the lime came through towards the end of the body, before the sweetness of the watermelon returns in the finish with notes of lychee difficult to pick up at all. Overall, this is a decent pear and watermelon juice, but we do prefer watermelon and pear juice separately – they’re just not fruits we like to eat together in a fruit salad.
