These Spanish Doughnuts Churros Dippers appeared briefly in the freezer section at our local supermarket, with D and I hopeful of being able to indulge in a quick dessert snack within the comfort of our home without having to visit a restaurant.
Each box contained 10 churros and 90 g of chocolate buttons for melting into a chocolate dipping sauce. I’ve been remiss in putting down our experience with these churros that I’ve no recollection of our long the churros required in the oven nor how long to heat the chocolate buttons.
That said, I do know that the product was a disappointment. The churros were chewy and dry and not at all crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside like the ones made fresh to order at San Churro Chocolateria, while the chocolate dipping sauce tasted like cheap chocolate. There must be a reason why we never saw them in the freezer section again, and now we know why.
