This Nespresso Variations Caramelito is the third of three flavoured coffees using Livanto as the base. As the name suggests, this one is caramel flavoured.
As it uses the Livanto as the base, it also has an intensity of 6 out of 13 and comes in a striped brown and bronze capsule.
The espresso was a translucent dark brown colour with a rich aroma of toffee. Made as a long black with a 1: 1 water to espresso ratio, the lightly sweet and mildly acidic fruity notes of the Livanto came through ahead of the sweet flavour of toffee in the body that developed in strength with the roasted coffee notes towards the finish and lingered long on the palate. The sweetness is rich and creamy – distinctly caramel like the squares of milk toffee – without relying on sugar to carry the flavour and well restrained by the bitterness of the coffee, allowing the caramel notes to came through most prominently in the aroma and leaving the taste well balanced and one easily enjoyed as a pairing to desserts rather than as a dessert in itself even with the addition of sweeteners and milk.
This Nespresso Variations Caramelito contained 10 x 5.3 g capsules. It was produced in Switzerland and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2017.
