This Glico Pretz Happy Pink! Strawberry Cultured Butter is a variation on the original Cultured Butter.
Each box contained two red bags.
Each bag contained two bags each containing ~21 biscuit sticks. Each biscuit stick is made with 3% cultured butter and 0.3% strawberry.
The Pretz have the same rich butter aroma and gentle tang as the original. Upon tasting, a similarly rich, savoury and nutty butter flavour came through the seasoning dusted over the Pretz, before a fruity sweetness — not identifiable as strawberry — cuts through the rich butter as the biscuit is eaten. The pairing of intensely rich and savoury flavours with the mellow sweetness is unexpected. But the reduction of cultured butter from 6% to 3% here does not subdue the overwhelming richness of the original sufficiently to make this new element of surprise in these bags easier to finish in one sitting.
