Jasmine scented green teas are fast establishing themselves as our favourite floral, so we took the opportunity to pick up a few discontinued teas from T2’s end of year sale. This one is the T2 Snow Dragon Jasmine.

The tea is a looseleaf green tea harvested from high Yunnan mountain plantations and scented with jasmine flowers. The green tea buds have a bright white colour and have been ‘twisted and twirled to symbolise the swirling nature of the dragon’.

Steeping 3 g of looseleaf in 200 mL of water at 80°C for 2 minutes, the infusion was a clear light straw colour with a crisp aroma of jasmine. Served hot, gently sweet notes of green tea came through before fragrant jasmine notes emerged in the body followed by a clean, light buttery finish from the green tea. This tea is delicate and refined, with the spring-like crispness of the jasmine shining through the light green tea with its gentle sweetness. Compared to jasmine pearl tea, the flavour here is more delicate and lighter yet equally enjoyable.

This T2 Snow Dragon Jasmine contained 50 g. It originated in China and was purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2018.
