LA Ice Cola Coffee

This LA Ice Cola Coffee started appearing on supermarket shelves soon after the Coca-Cola Plus Coffee No Sugar finished its seasonal run and has been stocked consistently since.

The soft drink was a translucent black-brown colour with a fragrant aroma of coffee and acidic sweetness of cola along with a moderate carbonation. Served chilled, the coffee notes came through briefly with a gentle caramel sweetness before a prominent acidity — more so than in all variants of Coca-Cola — developed in the body. The bubbles of carbonation cleanse the palate before the coffee notes return in the finish with the prominent acidity that leaves the teeth feeling squeaky as the coffee lingered on in the aftertaste.

Overall, the combination of coffee and cola here recalled that of cheap coffee flavoured chocolates. In comparison, the Coca-Cola Plus Coffee No Sugar is less acidic with stronger caramel notes, while the Coca-Cola Batch Blends No 01 Coffee & Chocolate has a more elegant approach to the chocolate with less acidity.

This LA Ice Cola Coffee contained 1.25 l. It was produced in Australia and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2019.
