Pringles Mystery arrived in Australia in May 2019 with $10.00,000 up for grabs for a winner who guesses the mystery flavour correctly. We picked up a tube out of curiosity.

The crisps are a pale yellow colour with a light brown seasoning and a savoury onion aroma. Upon tasting, the overall flavour was distinctly East Asian and upon mulling further recalled the black pepper steak that can be ordered at Chinese restaurants. The flavour was a savoury meaty steak with prominent peppery notes that deliver the slightest lingering heat after multiple crisps.
Now, black pepper steak was the flavour we were convinced it was, but Pringles revealed in June that it was Korean BBQ. We feel Korean BBQ is a rather broad flavour considering the numerous items one can cook at Korean BBQ. That said, pepper steak is definitely something that can be found at Korean BBQ, although we don’t think it’s specific enough for a ‘mystery’ flavour.
This Pringles Mystery contained 134 g. It was produced in Malaysia and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2019.
