UHA Mikakutō Cororo Apple Compote

The grape-like skin of Cororo gummy isn’t something that everyone enjoys and so it was to my advantage that N passed onto me this UHA Mikakutō Cororo Apple Compote.

Each piece is a bright orange colour with a sausage shape about 1.5 cm in length and 1 cm in diameter.

The gummies have a fragrant aroma of stewed apple jam (a compote, essentially) that carried through on tasting. Biting through, the teeth meet a gentle resistance from the ‘skin’ of the gummy before sinking into a soft and thick gel with an apple flavour that’s mouth salivating in acidity yet swiftly balanced by a prominent sweet apple flavour much like a compote. Much like the grape and muscat flavours, there are no ‘bits’ in the gummy to provide extra texture but the bold in-your-face flavour provides enough excitement for the palate.

This UHA Mikakutō Cororo Apple Compote contained 40 g or 9 pieces. It was produced in Japan and received as a gift from friends in Sydney, Australia in 2019.
