This is the Dragonfruit Smoothie from CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice ($7.80, only large, no sugar, standard ice) that I’ve long been curious about since trying Koomi’s Red Ninja Dragon Fruit Yoghurt. This one is layered and featured fresh orange segments in the base, followed by yoghurt, red dragonfruit flesh and red dragonfruit juice.
Consumed chilled and shaken, the drink was a translucent red-pink colour and on tasting, the first notes are the refreshing citrus notes of the orange followed by a rather prominent dairy yoghurt flavour before both recede and give way to the chunks of red dragonfruit flesh that give an enjoyable mellow nutty sweetness along with a fleshy textural finish. Overall, this is a refreshing drink that truly celebrates red dragonfruit without relying heavily on other fruits — such as banana in the Koomi drink — for texture and flavour.
